Success!
I’ve knitted several socks in my day…but never a pair. I’ve knitted most of a pair, some of a pair and one of a pair…but never a pair. Until now.
When we were at the sewing and crafts show in Abbotsford, Tammy mentioned that she used two circulars for knitting socks. I was inspired to give it another try but I could hear the lonely socks and sock-and-a-halfs calling out, begging me to spare others their lonely fate. So, I went one step further…I did two socks at once on two circulars, toe up.
It has changed my life.

The yarn is “Socks that Rock” but I’ve mislaid the label and can’t remember the colour, but let me tell you that two socks at once is pure genius! I think my mother thought I’d gone off the deep end when I told her what I was doing. I’m quite sure that either of my grandmothers and probably my mother-in-law would have dismissed the whole notion with a sniffling disdain for such shenanigans. But me? I have two socks. Completed. One for each foot.
Colour me smug!

Most excellent! Congratulations girl, the socks are beautiful. There is something really special about handmade socks, you’ll never turn back now. Where did you get the STR though? I’ve never seen it this side of the border.
Oh, and I really like this layout. Very pretty and springy.
Have a good week!

I picked it up a few months ago at Marilyn’s Yarn in Bellingham, WA, along with a set of bamboo dps. When we crossed the border and were asked what our purchases were and the value, I replied “Some yarn — about $30.” The customs guard and my husband had the same look on their faces and answered together, “That’s some expensive yarn!”

It is such a great feeling to finish a pair of socks and then wear them
And I love the new layout for your Blog too

What a gorgeous pair of socks.
I may have to consider knitting two socks at once, since it seems like sock 1 gets finished far faster than sock 2.
BTW? I think the colorway is Spring Fling, since it looks similar to a skein I have at home.

Thanks everyone — they are so comfie (and Jaya, I think you’re right on the colour)! I have another pair on the needles and have just turned the heel - pics will come after Vegas!
