Baby Sweater for Dulaan

The weather outside is nuts — but I have to admit that I missed this a little. A snow storm raging while you’re safe and warm inside is not such a terrible way to spend a Sunday. The potential downside to that is a possible loss of power (again).

It does make for some fun interactions between my husband and mother. Mom is always preparing for the imminent apocalypse — any flicker of lights is surely a sign on pending disaster….and our 50 hour power outage of a few weeks ago just confirms a life time of dire warnings - the end is near and we need propane lamps at the ready! And who gets called to duty (and away from the football game) to line up and fill the lamps. Yup, my husband.

I just keep knitting (or knit-blog hopping as the case may be).

And so I finally sewed five buttons on this baby sweater and have my second entry for Tammy’s contest for Dulaan. It’s not the most favourite thing I’ve ever knit - the problem lies more with the yarn than the pattern. Knitting it initially was just to use up some stash. I don’t especially like the way the pattern pooled on the sleeves — but it will add warmth, I hope, to somebody’s little one.

So cute! I really like the pooling, on the sleeves. I’ve always been a sucker for yarn that will spiral when knitted though!

The snow is amazing, eh? We’ve shovelled 5 times in the last 24 hours. Sometimes, having a big driveway is not a good thing!
